The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD), Office of Federal Grant Programs and Suicide Prevention is pleased to announce the 2024 Pediatric Suicide Prevention Virtual Summit, which will target Georgia’s pediatric primary care providers, pediatric nurses and other clinical and non-clinical staff. This virtual summit will offer education and discussion that will help to uncover and care for the mental health needs of youth as well as support parents and guardians.
Healthcare service providers across the state of Georgia provide on-going support, care, and resources to individuals with a wide range of concerns. The purpose of this summit is to address the behavioral health needs of youth by providing training to pediatric primary care providers who are already positioned to provide care for children and adolescents 0-18.
Attendees will be exposed to noted and respected experts through virtual sessions. Each of the sessions will focus on enhancing the suicide specific continuum of care, with the goal of reducing the number and rate of suicide deaths and number of non-fatal suicide attempts among children and adolescents across the state.
